Fellow ROC Members, A quick reminder: this Saturday (May 14, 2011) is the next ROC Launch. (Sorry for the lateness of the announcement!) The forecast is for good weather, with the least air movement (the dreaded "W" word!) in the early morning hours, increasing after noon. Conditions should be fine for launch operations. Portable toilets should be delivered on site by Friday evening. It's May, so while it can be chilly in the evenings and morning hours, the shift towards a summer pattern is underway; dress accordingly. The current forecast calls for overnight lows near 50F and highs near 80F with partly cloudy skies. In preparing for the possibly warm temperatures, please remember not to get sunburned and/or dehydrated. Be sure to bring sunscreen and plenty of water to drink. Overnight camping is allowed, but be sure to keep all campfires in above-ground containers to comply with BLM rules, and pack your ashes and wood debris out with you when you leave. Setup will begin around 7:00 AM on Saturday, as soon as the ROC trailer arrives. Launching starts as soon as the range is all set up, so be sure to come early and pitch in if you don't want to have to wait to fly. We hope to see you all this Saturday! ----------------------------------------------- Greg Lyzenga ROC Vice President - NAR #13295 / Tripoli #12088
