Thanks Allen and Kurt. Since I am one of those anal people, I came up with an idea. I went and bought a 4” metal screw-down hose clamp and put it on the tube. I then measured from the aft end of the tube to the edge of the clamp closest to the aft end. Once I had an equal measurement all the way around, I clamped it down just tight enough so it wouldn’t move and took a utility knife and trimmed the top using the top edge of the clamp as a guide. Came out real nice. Thanks again for the replies. But if you are real anal about it, you can sand it down with sandpaper and a flat block of wood. The rocket was given to me by a friend and it had a small zipper through the top 2-1/2” of the body tube. I cut the zippered part off with a chop saw, but because the blade wasn’t deep enough I had to take two swipes at it. And the result was a very straight cut...except for this 1/4” long, 1/16” gap between the nose cone and the tube. Thanks. Christopher L.
