Jenna Correlli-Taggert smiled slightly as she took in the new inventory. She?d
waited a long time to get her hands on this specimen. Such fine, delicate
features, much like the other, only more so. He really did get the very best of
both worlds. The enhancements of an experiment gone very right combined with
the good genes of both dame and sire. She couldn?t believe the bitch had gone
to the other sire after this. That was too much like going from a thoroughbred
stallion to a donkey. And yet, it only proved how well her experiment had
really worked. Looking over at the first in her lot she stroked the containment
pod gently. Despite his slight stature and the faulty genetics of his sire he
really was a truly beautiful specimen as well. She wondered what the outcome
would have been of a few other trials. Had they partnered her with, say, a
Betazoid or a Vulcan, or perhaps even tried her out with some of their own
special blends. No doubt the outcomes would have been
glorious. If only she?d cooperated. Instead, they'd been forced to destroy
her. Such a pity. Now they would simply have to satisfy themselves with looking
closer at her offspring and the research now being done on the next generation
from their seed. Some interesting combinations had been made and she looked
forward to monitoring their progress.

"Cryopod secured, ma'am." the ensign assured her as he stepped back from the
set. "The rest of the supplies are onboard as well."

"Good." Jenna smiled sweetly. "set a course for Deep Space Vega Prime. Best
speed."

"Aye, ma'am." the young man answered, informing the helm of the order.

Within moments they were underway. Jenna surveyed her treasures and sighed.
At last, her real work could begin.

I am wounded but I am not dead.
I shall lay me down and bleed a while.
Then I will rise and fight again.
