ecco come ho risistemato uno dei pc "rotti" del lip :)
Boot da ubuntu, editato /boot/grub/menu.lst ed inserito quanto segue:
title=Windows XP
map (hd0) (hd1) # Tell the first hard drive to pretend to be the second
map (hd1) (hd0) # Tell the second hard drive to pretend to be the first
root (hd1,0) # Tell GRUB Windows is on /dev/hdb1 (No pretending here)
rootnoverify (hd1,0) # GRUB won't attempt to mount the Windows drive
makeactive # Sets the partition to active
chainloader +1 # Tells GRUB to load the Windows bootloader when done
Dopodiche', boot dal cd di installazione di winxp, entrato nella console
di ripristino di sistema ed ho copiato i seguenti file dal cd:
copy (cdrom):\i386\ntdetect.com C:\
copy (cdrom):\i386\ntldr C:\
Nota 1:
Provando a seguire un paio di hint avevo ricopiato anche il "Boot.ini"
che pero' faceva piu' danno che utile perche' non propriamente
configurato. L'ho ranzato ed il sistema e' partito.
Nota 2:
Ho scoperto che quella macchina, pre-lip, era configurata cosi':
C: -> dati
D: -> windows
Probabilmente windows tiene comunque in C: i file di cui sopra.
