thanks will do, I think in this case the only person with the bad breath is me, unfortunately. Speaking of smells, I remember recording this guy called Joe Porter, dono if You've heard of him, great english folk music, when he was doing his vocals takes, he insisted in singing with his shirt off, now this is normally ok, I believe in letting a artist do what they wish to get in the zone, but his body oder was so bad that even he couldn't stick it for too long, especially shut up in the tiny vocal booth we had at the time. I tell you he was sufficating in there and the smell lasted for days after he'd gone.

Well, try a litle listerine in a spray bottle on it and see if that fixes it.

Did someone sit in with you with elephant fart breath and sing 'grin'?

Cheers for that chris, It's wire mesh on the outside ya know the type, the end is flat as opposed to rounded like that of the 58?
The fome is under the mesh and I think its this that's smelling.

Tom Kingston says he uses a mixture of warm water and listerine.

If your wind-screen a combination with the foam on the inside and the metal on the outside?

If the foam is starting to rot away on the inside, might be best to peel it away, and then cleanse the metal with the listerine and warm water, and then put a foam screen over the outside, which you can clean now and again, or just change.

Nothing worse than a nasty mic 'grin'.

Well, there is, but I'll be polite 'grin'.

Now speaking of that rascal Tom Kingston, I got a private message from him indicating he was happy the list got started, but I haven't gotten a message from him yet to let me know he tried to get here.

Should I do it, just subscribe him?

Oh, I'm tempted 'grin'.

Hi, just got in from a gig, I've noticed lately my mic is beginning to smell a bit,lol it nearly embarrassing I've never had a mic smell on me before. I do take the wind screen off and dry the diaphgram as best I can, but is there a method of cleansing the wind screen itself? By the wind screen I mean the lair of fome and the wire mesh itself. It's a senhiser 835 E and it's a great mic for live work. I have seen old mics with the fome almost rotted away, spit apparently is very corosive
