Job Announcement Posting Window: April 10-May 4, 2012 Organization: The United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) Title: Outreach & Membership Coordinator Start Date: June 1, 2012 Location: Colorado Springs, CO Position Type: Full-time Salary: $25,000-$30,000 per year plus benefits This position requires a proactive, detailed and customer service oriented self-starter with a strong sense of teamwork. This person must be capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and following through on issues in a timely manner. He/she must have the proven ability to demonstrate professionalism; establish and maintain effective professional relationships with all staff levels, volunteers, executives, board members, donors and USABA members. Major duties and responsibilities include: Develops and implements specific, targeted initiatives to maintain and increase membership; Cultivate an outreach network by establishing good working relationships with the program director’s our key constituent groups including USABA Sports Clubs, agencies that serve the blind and visually impaired, National Governing Bodies, U.S. Paralympics, Paralympic Sports Clubs, Multi-Sport Organizations, teacher’s for the visually impaired, etc.; Maintain, manage and build existing and new USABA Sports Clubs with the goal of increasing membership through good partnership; Manage receipts, processing/data entry, fulfillment and acknowledgments for all membership and administrative functions; Perform key administrative functions to support all staff; Promote and sell merchandise; Maintain regular information on website, social media and database; Assist staff in the planning and implementation of training camps, sporting events and special events; Be a self-motivated member of the fundraising team; Prepare monthly program and fiscal reports; Perform other duties as assigned. Establish, communicate and maintain relationships with our members to keep them interested and satisfied with USABA’s benefits and programs; Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree is preferred; At least one year of proven professional experience; Demonstrated commitment to the use of sports as a method to enhance the lives of individuals who are blind and visually impaired; Displays good oral, written, and listening skills for individuals / groups; Demonstrated ability to develop detailed, executable complex programs, projects and activities; Inspires, motivates, and guides diverse individuals, groups and organizations toward the attainment of a common task or purpose; Proficient with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel software programs; Reasonable travel and evening/weekend work involved; Ability to travel throughout the State of Colorado to implement USABA programs.
