All:

I'm developing a spreadsheet in which there are status columns. The column
contains dates, and the colors black, green and red are used to indicate:
completed, projected, and failed respectively.

To input this data park my cursor on the appropriate cell, do a control+1 which
brings me to the fonts tab within formatting. Then, I tab to "color" and arrow
down to whichever color I want and hit enter. Then, I tab to OK, and the color
for the selected cell is changed accordingly.
This works, but it's a little more time-consuming than I'd like. Is there a
relatively easy way to "automate" this? I know there are macros available, but
I've never used them.

Thanks for any suggestions.
