I didn't note the cost--how much is this unit? Also, remember that
Garman makes a fantastic GPS in terms of its ability to talk through a
route; however a blind person can't enter information into it without
sighted assistance because none of the menus talk. It might be the same
with this unit.

True enough, but we're talking instant access to 230000 titles through
the Kindle store, best sellers, not to mention daily newspapers and
magazines, all at half price or less of their printed versions.
