Dear Kansas City Area Listers:
Here is a summary from a brochure I got from the Troost (25 route) bus today:
The KCATA (the Metro) is proposing a base fare to $1.50 for all local service.
There will be a 25 cent increase proposal for buses that serve KCK. If you
wish to comment, you can contact The Metro by sending an e-mail to
farecomments@xxxxxxxxx or writing them at KCATA, Planning Department, 1200 East
18th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64108 or calling (816) 346-0300.
There will be public hearings. There are four scheduled, and the remaining
ones will be held on Wednesday, January 28th 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Lucile H.
Bluford Branch Library, Meeting Room A, located at 3050 Prospect and Tuesday,
February 3rd 4:30 PM-6:30 PM at Gashland Presbyterian Church, Fellowship Hall,
located at 8029 North Oak Trafficway. If you need accommodations, call (816)
346-0311 (voice) or (816) 474-0646 (TTY). Both locations are wheelchair
accessible.
Monthly passes are slated to cost $50.00 and reduced fare cards will be $25.00,
or 75 cents per ride with a reduced fare card.
The brochure did not say anything about express routes or fares for buses
serving Johnson County, Kansas, but I imagine they will increase, too.
