Hi Ben, I'm not certain what OCR software came with your specific scanner,
but why not try a demo of Text Cloner Pro.
It gives you 50 scans for free so you can evaluate the program.
It is $99, but at least you could determine whether it could work with your
set up.

I need to call on the reservoir of knowledge on this list.
Yesterday I purchased an HP Office Jet J4580 printer/scanner/copier/ fax.
The reliability factor is supposed to be good. Any advice on installation?
I am using Jaws 9 with Vista. I have sort of run out of funds for the
moment, therefore too cheap to upgrade OpenBook to 8.0. I do have 7.2 now.
I guess what I want to know is, with the existing software that comes with
the unit, is there any way to read any scans I might choose to do? At one
time the screen readers used to work with some (off the shelf) scanning
software. I need as much advice as you can give me.
