Yeah, the  orange Bravo Condom Mustang almost  jumped off the paper!
Spectacular! Abd Larry's shot with the background in Black and White.
Oooohh...jealousy is such an ugly emotion!  heehee C.

Subject: [ratpack] Minutes from our meeting

I  think there were about 120 of 'em.  Mike (needs a nickname) had
some very kool photos in 24x12 size and one 16x20 (I think) that was
really kool.  His portrait mode shot including the mountains was
stunning.  We also got to meet his lovely wife as she picked him up
from Hires.  Mark (who may be know forthwith as Muttley) brought some
shots from the last MPRA meet and has my 20D and Sigma 17-70 lens to try out.

A.N. Alog brought some great hard copy stuff: F1 and Targa Florio
material from the 70s, a coupla vintage repair manuals...I loved the
56 Olds manual with the pressure diagrams for the 4-speed Hydramatic
trans.  And thanks for the Big Daddy Roth article.

The Knightmare had real nice 20x30s.  One of the shots of a Superbike
rider with his left kneepad on the corner curb and you's swear he was
supporting the bike on it in a static shot.  Outta site.  He's still
wondering why the front and rear of the cars in his panning shots
aren't as clear as the center.  We gotta find an answer to this or
Oprah might decide to leave television...oh...wait...too late.  Big
deal, huh?

Fuzzy brought his old glasses, since his new ones aren't ready, but
also showed some beautifully crafted knives with very unique wood
handles.  Outstanding craftsmanship.

I brought a few prints showing what the 7D can do at 3200
ISO....really amazing...and we discussed using ISO, shutter priority,
aperture priority and the possibility of A,N, getting a digital
camera.  That seems about as likely as finding the answer to Larry's
panning blur questions.  Hmm...Maybe Santa will bring him something.  :)

We decided not to hold a get-together in December like we did
(didn't) last year, since there are so many other things happening at
that time of year.  Our next get-together will be in
January.  There's a snowcross event at Miller's on the 16th so that
date is out.  The Auto Expo at South Town that I'll be shooting is on
the 14-18, too.  So I'm gonna suggest the 23rd, the week before the
Daytona 24.  Either that or the 9th....but that may still be in the
holiday hangover period...well, the leftover parties, late bowl
games, etc.  The Super Bowl is Feb 10th so that won't interfere with
either of those dates.

Well, there's about 30 minutes of typing up the minutes.  Why do they
call it that, anyway?
