My price base is $75.00 for a CD with at least 50 photos. I don't usually sell
prints other than 20 X 30's and those go for $50.00 for one and $40.00 each for
two or more in one sale.

We discussed this as some great length last year. The end result was (iirc)
that we didn't want to end up cutting each others' throats in a low-ball
bidding war...not that I think it would happen, but we wanted to kinda keep
things in the same ballpark. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think
we came up with $50 as the general price for a CD...assuming there were more
than a couple of photos on it.

I'll mention that the local racers are generally "thriftier" than those from
out of state (with a couple of notable exceptions) and the larger teams on the
salt flats don't blink at a price of $200 for a CD. (I didn't come up with
that price...it was pretty much the standard well before I started shooting out
there.)

My opinion: they're worth what someone will pay...but I'd try for a less
complicated multi-tier pricing, myself. I think of how frustrating it is for
me to deal with cell phone companies or other sellers of products that offer
multiple packages. But, whatever works for ya.

I think we're all pretty agreed (again, correct me if I'm wrong) that a 20x30
poster generally goes for $50 and I've been selling 8x10s at $10 and 11x14s at
$20...both on the salt and at the track.

So, I sold a cd full of pics to a race team from the enduro, the sponsor of
the car is a printing company so of course they're not interested in any prints
just the cd. So being a newbie I just told them the cd is $50. Well I was
thinking on the way home tonight they got a real bargin, so here's what I'm
thinking for future clients; with the purchase of two or more pics a cd of up
to twenty pics the cd will be $40 with more than 20 pics the cd will be $50,
the price of the cd alone 20 or fewer pics$50 and with 20 or more pics $100.

What does the group think of this? I'm not trying to rip anybody off but I
think this is fair. They also asked about usage of the pics and I stated that I
would retain ownership of the pics but they could do what they wish with the
photos. I also asked them to throw in a 20x30 of one of the prints that I like
and they said no trouble.

I'm looking for input, so tell me what you think
