Currently I am in Windows, and just keeping up with messages today while
it's chore day here, so I won't be able to boot to my Ubuntu to look for
that.
But you can bring up Orca preferences , or go into "accessibility" in Ubuntu
and look for it there.
I haven't gone there for a while, since I last installed Ubuntu to give you
any better directions.
Speakup alone would be different, and others on the list can find out
readily, if they are running speakup as they are reading their messages.
I hope someone else chimes in on this.

I wonder if SpeakUp and/or Orca have the equivalent of Microsoft's "sticky
keys"?
This is what allows someone with one hand to press multiple keys
separately,
as though they had been pressed together.
