Hi Jacob,
I have no wpa_supplicant.conf file. Creating one didn't help. When I did
ifup wlan0
I got, "ignoring unknown interface wlan0=wlan0."
So I tried adding these lines to /etc/network/interfaces
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
wpa-ssid <my network name>
# There is no psk.
Now ifup doesn't complain about an unknown interface but it still doesn't work.
I have no idea what I should add to interfaces and the man page isn't too
helpful.

Amanda, here's the page referred to in a prior mail to this list that I

That's all. What should I add if anything? Right now, when I open network
settings, all wi-fi networks are shown as out of range and none of their
names are given. I managed to connect to one for about 5 seconds before
being kicked off. The wireless card works so I don't know the source of the
problem.

I'm hoping for some help from one of the Linux users on this list. I
want to use my Vinux partition but it doesn't recognize the wi-fi
network at my new place. Suggestions?
