The Raspberry-Pi has a multiway GPIO pin connector along the top edge of the
board, that is, the printed legends are that way up.
Now, turn the board other way round so that the connector is along the near
edge, extending almost to the nearest right corner.
Now check the fan connector lead and plug. The plug has a definite notch
adjacent to the Black wire.
This notch must be aligned to the left in order to insert the plug correctly.
Now, of extreme importance....
You require the Black wire to connect to GPIO pin 6
You require the Red wire to connect to GPIO pin 4
This is to be done as follows..
Disconnect all power supplies and any plug in items.
Take hold of the small fan plug and make sure that the little nick can be felt
on its Left hand side.
Gently insert the plug as follows.
The plug goes in not quite at the extreme right end of the GPIO connector.
There are two rows of 20 pins each comprising this connector.
The plug goes into the nearest row of pins so that there is just one pin
exposed ,i.e. pin 2, to its right.
With the plug correctly fitted, two pins ( pins 1 and 2 ) will be detected
with a toothpick, to the right.
You might wish to know that access to pins 3 and 5, which are on the farther
row of the GPIO , will be impaired by the shoulders of the 2 pin plug.
For interest, these are GPIO2 and GPIO3.

There isn't a fan plug per say. Can you link us to the case you purchased?

Hi,===========================================================
Does anyone know where the fan plug goes in on the raspberry Pi?
I bought a case off of Ebay, which has like plastic sheets that build the
case.
I can get the case together, but I cant get the fan plugged in.
I have a clear acrylic case.
Thanks in advance.
