Phil,
The current problems with clipped and stuttery audio are nothing to do
with eSpeak itself.
Unless Sepstrel uses some other mechanism such as pulse audio using it
instead of eSPeak is unlikely to make a difference.
I will get back on trying to get eSpeak running with pulse over Christmas.
