Hi Wolfgang,
added a hint to max_input_vars in snmpgeneric.php.
Thanks,
Maik

Hi Maik,
Max_input_vars was not enabled, and I had to increase the value from the
default 1000 to 10000. But now I can import all ports in one go. Many
thanks!
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,
could you try "max_input_vars" in php.ini?

Maik

Hi Maik,
Sorry, had no time to deal with this in between.
I doubled the value for post_max_size from 8M to 16M, but that didn’t
change anything for the first import. I imported 99 ports. The second
import added another 60 ports, third import added 26 ports and any
subsequent run added another 11 ports only. Took me a while to import all
ports, but then this is not something done every day.
I also figured out why I do not get any IP-addresses from my Cisco Nexus
3000 and Cisco Nexus 5000 switches. By default SNMP tries to read the
IP-table from the VRF default. But I don’t use that VRF, means I have no
IP-interface in this VRF so SNMP return that the OID for the IP-table
doesn’t exist.
There is a way to configure the Nexus switches to use a different VRF, but
then you only get IP-interfaces in that VRF and your generic SNMP sync
plugin reads these IP-addresses correct. Something like “sh hip int br vrf
all” which shows all IP-interfaces across all VRFs doesn’t work with SNMP
it seems, or Cisco is storing this in another OID that I haven’t found
yet.

Hi Wolfgang,
do you mean the SNMPgeneric Plugin?
You could try to set a bigger value for "post_max_size" in your php.ini
and see if that helps.
Did the plugin add the next 100 if you run it again? Because already
existing ports are ignored.

Maik

Hi,
I’m a happy user of the SNMP plugin to import my configurations. Great
tool.
I have just setup new Nexus 5000 (5596UP) with 18 fex modules (means the
switch has close to 850 ports). Whenever I try to import the ports, the
first roughly 100 are added only. Is there a limitation to the number of
ports that can be imported? Can this be configured somewhere?
Many thanks
Wolfgang
