Yes, both Eclipse and VS are accessible. The two plus Netbeans/Sodbeans are the most accessible ides around as far as I know. However, they are extremely complex for beginners and you will have to navigate among options that you won't need for quite some time.

I'm using nvda plus notepad++ right now. It has some quirks, but in general it is pretty decent.

Hello again,
Thank you Jeffrey and Dzhovani.
Dzhovani: Are both Eclipse and Visual Studio fully accessible with NVDA?
And, with all this, Is Notepad++ any decent? Wouldn't I encounter some
problems later on if I begin using it?

Another question about this group which I think Jeffrey you can answer better:
What is this meetings at out-of-sight? What sort of things you often
talk about? Can I also join?

Thanks guys,
Bye.

Eclipse has auto complete and visual studio as well, but both are

Hello and welcome to the list,

I have only used EdgeSharp which you have rejected, and have no experience

earlier reference in our list archives?

Subject: [pythonvis] New to Python/PythonVIS: Need some suggestion about
text editor/IDE and some help...

Hi everyone,
I've just subscribed to this list so excuse me if my question has been
asked before.
Well, it's been a few days since I've got a sudden interest in learning
Python. Actually it's been a few weeks since I was thinking of a new
programming language to learn. I've learned some simpler programming
languages before and am familiar with general programming concepts.
I was thinking more toward Java (mostly for Android programming) or
c++. But when I read up some about capabilities of Python I thought to
myself "This is perfect."
I skimmed through Python2.7 tutorial that is a part of the manual and got
a bit familiar with the language.
Well, long story short: I need a good text editor (or IDE, whichever you
recommend) that is fully accessible with NVDA with features like auto
suggestion, auto completion and perhaps auto indent.
and please, don't suggest EdSharp. I installed it but didn't like it a bit
:d Yes, it has some features that makes it easy to navigate through the
code but it's just a text editor.
Notepad++ looks perfect but the auto completion feature isn't
accessible with NVDA. For instance: I type in "pr" and it opens up a menu
in front of what I've typed that contains things like print and such. But
when I press up/down NVDA doesn't read the menu items.
Also if there was a feature (or/addon) in NVDA that would read the
indentation level (as apposed to the number of spaces like now) it'd be
perfect.
At least if NVDA paused a bit between the number of spaces and the actual
code it would become more tolerable. NVDA reads like this when you turn on
the line indentation report:

Four space print "hello world"

It is a bit frustrating.
So any help from you all dear friends is appreciated to help me take the
first steps and become a Python programmer

Have an enjoyable time.
