[cid:image001.jpg@01CF1D14.3A146400] Persuitnodiging 29-01-2014 Neurostimulatie en Neurofeedback bij de behandeling van psychiatrische aandoeningen Een prikkelend congres over de toepassingen van neurocognitief onderzoek Hersenonderzoek neemt een hoge vlucht. Nederland heeft internationaal een goede positie in dit veld. Dit biedt veel mogelijkheden voor toegepaste cognitie- en hersenwetenschappen en technologische innovaties. SAN2014 is een driedaags internationaal congres waar onderzoekers zich op de hoogte kunnen stellen van neuro-technologische ontwikkelingen. Ook journalisten met interesse in innovatie zijn van harte welkom. Het SAN/NIHC 2014 congres verkent nieuwe toepassingen door inzicht te verkrijgen in het functioneren van het brein. De bijeenkomst vindt plaats van 30 januari tot 2 februari in de Jaarbeurshal te Utrecht. De Society of Applied Neuroscience (SAN) en het Nationaal Initiatief Hersenen en Cognitie (NIHC) organiseren het internationale congres. Op het congres zetten toponderzoekers uit het buitenland en een aantal Nederlandse sprekers hun onderzoek uiteen en gaan in op welke toepassingen zij voor mogelijk zien. Topsprekers uit het buitenland zijn onder meer: - Niels Birbaumer Deze toponderzoeker spreekt over Brein-machine interfaces - besturing van de computer door de hersenen - enerzijds voor locked in patiënten (ALS), anderzijds interessant voor de gamesindustrie. - Thomas Schlaepfer Een wereld expert op het gebied van diepe hersenstimulatie, zal o.a. resultaten van zijn recente onderzoek laten zien, waar een nieuwe locatie in de hersenen is gestimuleerd bij depressie met 90% response (=erg hoog) met minder sterke stimulatie en effect binnen enkele dagen (in tegenstelling tot 2-4 weken voor antidepressiva). - John Gruzelier Hij spreekt over het bereiken van optimale prestaties middels neurofeedback. Veel olympische sporters en andere sporters gebruiken tegenwoordig allerlei vormen van neurofeedback. Gruzelier zal spreken over de huidige stand van onderzoek naar optimale presentaties in de 'Arts', muzikale performance, dans e.d.
