[pure-silver] what does "tipped-in" mean?

I recently read a description of a photography book that said that the prints were "tipped onto" the pages. I'm not sure what this means. It could mean that little slits were cut in the paper of the book and the corners of the print were poked into those slits, or it could mean that photo corners were stuck to the paper, or.. what?
