I usually add some alcohol to Photo-Flo. Use the Photo-Flo at half strength (about 2.5ml per liter of solution) and add about 30ml of 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol per liter.
You mentioned this some time ago, and following your advice I have been using this technique for several years. My variation is to make a 10% solution of photo-flo toalcohol and use it at 1:40. This makes measuring easy as I don't have to measure out small volumes nor am I dealing with a viscous liquid.
I pour out a bit of the alcohol from a 16oz bottle of isopropyl, add 50ml [1.6oz] of photo-flo and bring the volume back to 16oz with the reserved alcohol. I keep the stock in the bottle the alcohol came in, attaching a new label.
The alcohol makes a sort of super wetting agent of the Photo-Flo.
It certainly does. You wouldn't think such a smallamount of alcohol would have such a large effect. But a 10% alcohol content in wine will cause it to tear in the glass.
