problem with 2 gig card in PTR1 revisited

Subject: problem with 2 gig card in PTR1
At first, I thought this was just my problem, so tried in other PTR1 with
same results.
I have a 2 gig SanDisk card which I put in the PTR1, also making sure I had
the latest firmware.
When turning on the unit, after the starting zing sound, For a couple of
minutes, nothing and when it finally said "card pleas wait," it takes
several minutes for any response, also when shutting down, taking several
minutes, extremely sluggish.
I can't record or play.I tried the card on my PC, so the card is fine.
I then tried my card on a friend's PTR1, with the same results. Will be
trying in a PTR2 tomorrow.
Please help, thank you.

Well, as you can see, that tomorrow wasn't until today.
The compactflash card works perfectly in a PTR2 but when it was sold, was
also suppose to work in the PTR1.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
