This statement below isn't new. But by request I never got a detailed information about the hardware that prevents the PTR1 to accept SDHC cards. Both devices didn't speak to the SD cards itself, but to a SD-CF-card adaptor. So the signal of the SD and of course also the SDHC card is translated by the CF card adaptor. And of course the OS, the so called Firmware, of the PTR1 and PTR2 are differend. I am not a programer of software, but I suppose, the additional code, that made the PTR2 able to access to handle SDHC cards also could be fit into the Firmware of the PTR1. However, appart from this SDHC card problem, Plextalk haven't changed anything of the PTR1 firmware since years. And that imho. shows that they discontinued not only selling the device, but anything in development or updating the firmware. It's really a pity, because I like this device very much and so I short time ago bought two additional ones for the time, when my old one gives up.

This is not true.
The PTR1 operating system is from a different generation as the PTR2.
It was possible to update PTR2 for SDHC cards, it is not possible in
the
PTR1 without hardware changes.
