Hi, boys, I've used that recording thing countless times; I'm sure I've pressed the buttons right and all. Then I wonder once more and hit that top left button on the PTR2 and it says: recording.

What a relief!

Andre,

Just hold down the information key for battery status
Not only battery status but all kinds of recording parameters including
if you are actually recording or in recording pause
Have you ever wondered in the middle of a recording if you were actually
recording or in recording pause
Or worse yet have you not wondered and wished later that you had?
It tells you

The battery level is only 3 levels but its better than nothing.

Subject: New ptr2 initial impressions and questions

Hi all

Received my ptr2 on Thursday afternoon and quite frankly having a lot of
fun! There really is so much to learn. This is so much more than a
player/recordder I would almost call it a small sound computer. But
definitely not for everyone!

I must say I still miss a proper line-out socket on the machine. But
this
is simply the hifi chap in me speaking! I simply do not feel very
comfortable playing something through a headphone socket through a good
quality stereo system!

Think plextor should be congratulated by the way they made the layout of
the
machine and with the different forms of different keys. It does not
feel
cluttered at all and I found the layout easy to learn.

I was supprised at the sound quality of the internal microphone. The
sound
is clear and without any serious distortion. Have to test it with a few
external mikes though.

One thing I must say I do miss is some kind of battery status
indicator.
That would have been realy nice!

I see in the recording settings menu that it has a few presets for
different
types of recordings. I have been wondering if it is at all possible to
find
out e.g. what kind of settings is used for the Conference mode? I do
not
seem to be able to find this in the manual.

Will probably come back with some more stuff later!!

Regards

Andre
