Hello all,

I have made a test version of a live CD based on puppy linux, which

* makes it easy to run pskmail on small memory laptops
* needs no (zero) installation
* runs fast in RAM on a 192M machine (you can remove the CD from the drive)
* can save config information to a window$ disk or a USB stick for next session
* downloads relatively fast (only 88M).

This is NOT meant to replace the Mandriva live CD which has much more features
and can be used as a normal Linux OS.

At this point in time there are no bells, whistles and desktop icons, I also
want
to make the footprint even smaller in future, and make it look like a PSKMAIL
only disk.
I don't know how to remove packages yet :)

What is not available:
*GPS
*Mbox compatible email client

The system runs fine on all (9) computers in the house, including the old
Compaq M700 with
a pentium III and 192M RAM.

The download is at http://sharon.esrac.ele.tue.nl/pub/linux/ham/pskmail/puppy.
It is based on version 0.5.alpha2.

Burn it to a CD and boot it... fldigi needs 1024x768 video.
Start fldigi with './fldigi' from a terminal
Start pskmail from another terminal with 'cd mail' and './pskmail'
Then config fldigi and psk_arq (Options, Configuration).
Restart pskmail after config...

When you shut down puppy will ask you where to save the data (window$ disk, USB
stick etc.)

I am interested to know what computers it does NOT run on :)
