Gunnar, I have one of those and it's performance on PSK31 is exceptional. George Heron N2APB and Milt Cram W8NUE have done an extraordinary job with that product and it's development just keeps continuing on. However, it could really never be used for PSKmail BUT, the core chip may be useable and parts of the readily available source code that handles the PSK31 I/O part of the product could be a starting platform, to build a PSKmail hardware interface, based on the dsPIC33FJ128MC706 processor. In adding extra modes for PSKmail, the problem may arise with the amount of code space in the dsPIC33 family of processors. However, external RAM can be added. consider that even a Mailbox could be added, for when the PC is off, just like Packet TNCs use :-) http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/devicedoc/70155c.pdf Design of NUE-PSK Modem http://www.nue-psk.com/doc/NUE-PSK_(QEX_Mar-Apr_2008).pdf PSKcore by Moe Wheatley AE4JY used in development of the modem. http://www.moetronix.com/ae4jy/pskcoredll.htm This could even be a spinoff project, by the developers of the NUE-PSK modem? Open source developers could also contribute......... Now, in relation to the above, I have merely made suggestions and my ability to do this kind of project is way past me, but having messed with hardware boxes for the last 20 years and now having some 20 TNCs in my collection and still playing with them, I feel qualified to pass my opinions on possible hardware solutions. Please don't flame me :-) Would be interesting to see comments, from other more experienced people....... 73, Jack VK4JRC Sent from my iPad On 09/04/2012, at 2:05 AM, "Gunnar Bulukin" <gunnar@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hi > > Is this something that can be used? > > 73 de Gunnar > > http://www.nue-psk.com/ > > > Den den 7 april 2012 klockan 15:20 skrev Gunnar Bulukin <gunnar@xxxxxxxxxx>: > > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: pskmail-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pskmail-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On > > Behalf Of Jack Chomley > > Sent: Saturday, April 07, 2012 7:05 AM > > To: pskmail@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > Subject: [pskmail] Re: Fldigi > > > > > > On 07/04/2012, at 1:41 AM, Eric Davenport <kz5ed@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > > > I think these other hardware sources might have some value in the > > > future > > > > > > http://beagleboard.org/ > > > > > > http://trimslice.com/web/ > > > > > > Looks like the day of the throwaway computer literally is here. > > > > > > Just some thoughts for what they are worth. > > > > > > 73 > > > > > > Eric > > > > > > -- > > > KZ5ED > > > Eric > > > ewdavenport@xxxxxxxxxx >
