18.106 would be fine here, will watch if this is good from others if they want
to try 17m.

The only concern is to be just above the PSK band and maybe some of the "other"
modes that hang out along with getting away from RTTY as well.

I monitored 14.111 before and ran across a RTTY contest but also seem to see
there is a lot of activity around there as well. If 20m is busy for this or
some other reason, there are other options and 17m can be one of them.
Something to maybe even consider for "long haul" in the future could be another
band (15, 12, or 10). Just have to check if the antenna will work for it...

Hi,

Great idea. We used to scan 17 meters, at least my server and pi4tue
anyway. Condx has been poor so we have not done that in a while. We used
to use 18.105 and later moved to 18.106. I'm not so sure about the
higher frequency (18.111) as the NCDXF beacons are at 18.110 and 109 to
111 is exclusively for beacons around here.

There is always someone claiming to own whatever frequency we would
choose but I think 18.106 was ok before. Perhaps that could be used
again. I can add 17 meters to my scan also, would be good to get a feel
for that band again.
