Hi Toni,
Thank you for contacting us!
I have started to look over this and it looks really interesting.
We normally like to see something up & running before setting up staff accounts
- I see detailed instructions on your site, so I will try as soon as I have
time.
Jon Blake would then look after the setting up of the account, so if you don't
hear back from us in a week or so please jot a line to this list addressed to
him & myself.
To pick up your various notes:
Hosting - as you rightly point out, the books need to be downloaded by the end
reader from the AON website - but it is OK to include a button in the
application for that.
Translation - all languages would need to be the AON translations - only
translations on AON would be covered by the license.
Running from the AON site - I don't see any problems with this - sounds pretty
cool and should work in principle. Once you have an account, you should be able
to get this up & running.
...The files "mechanics-*.xml" are rules system to play the section specific
rules... - I see no problem with this. mecahnic/rule files which do not contain
complete text sections from the book can theoretically be posted anywhere.
...I have used and modified the Spanish Project Aon logo... I doubt there would
be a problem with this, but it is a little on the line, so you may choose to go
with a generic logo for now.
...Can I distribute these files?... - mechanic/rules, I see no problems. Logo -
would be "at your own risk" - I can't directly confirm this one I'm afraid.
For Lone Wolf Saga source code, the best bet is to contact the author directly
- I believe his details at in the app? If you can't track him down, give me a
shout and I'll look around.
I've always had an ambition for a "Common Navigation File" which any book
player could use to decipher the XML book text into machine processable format
- that is a project which is long overdue resurrection!
Finally, if you haven't done so already, please head over to the AON forums -
you will find boards for discussions on ideas & progress.
Shout if I can help any further

Subject: [projectaon] 'Kai Chronicles' books player
Hello,
I'm Toni Bennasar, from Mallorca, Spain. My English is awful, so sorry about it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1)
I come to write this mail from
https://www.projectaon.org/en/Sanctum/WebAccounts.
Project Aon: Sanctum / Web Accounts
(browse)<https://www.projectaon.org/en/Sanctum/WebAccounts>
www.projectaon.org
As a volunteer developer of software for Project Aon, you can request a web
account on the mailing list which will allow you to host your files on the
projectaon.org ...
I have written a Lone Wolf books player, just for books 1 and 2. The code is at
https://github.com/tonib/kaichronicles

kaichronicles - Lone Wolf game books player
It's a "player", not just a "reader". It's similar to the "Lone Wolf Saga", but:
* It only supports books 1 and 2 (right now)
* It supports translations (Spanish and English)
* It's a web player (and an Android app, but the app it's just a wrapper of the
web application)
It's entirely written on JavaScript, so nothing is executed on the server.
I cannot distribute the Project Aon book data, so it would like to request to
publish it under the Project Aon domain (the web site and the Android app)
Can I?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2)
I have some concerns about legal issues:
* At https://github.com/tonib/kaichronicles/tree/master/www/data, I have put ;
the game rules. The files "mechanics-*.xml" are rules system to play the
section specific rules. They do not contain anything from the book, but they
are really the books semantics itself.

* At https://github.com/tonib/kaichronicles/blob/master/www/data/objects.xml , ;
I have put the objects descriptions (and object effects). This file contains
contains objects descriptions from the books.

* At

I have used and modified the Spanish Project Aon logo (I'm a programmer, not
a designer, and my drawing skills are kindergarten level)

Can I distribute these files?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3)
And this is for my curiosity (too late to do anything about it). I did this
because:
* I played Lone Wolf Saga, I liked soooo much, but I almost cannot understand
advanced English, and it had no Spanish translation
* I wanted to learn some more JavaScript (confirmed: JavaScript is disgusting)
There is a Lone Wolf Saga source code published anywhere?
Thank you and happy new year!
