Subject: Gamebooks in PDF Format
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi, I was wondering if you could post all of the books on your site in PDF
format. I don't have a computer of my own and at the public library and at this
university, Viewind the HTML files to play the gamebooks is restricted to
administrators only.  Students don't have access because HTML is blocked. CAN
YOU PLEASE POST ALL OF THE BOOKS IN PDF FORMAT OR AT LEAST EMAIL THEM TO ME SO
I CAN PRINT THEM AN PLAY THE BECAUSE I LOVE TO PLAY GAMEBOOKS!
Hi Mike
Apologies for the lateness in responding. We've been so busy focusing on getting Mydnight's Hero released that we've built up a backlog of messages that we're only now starting to respond to.
I sent through the simplified HTML pages earlier this morning, but I thought I'd respond to this E-mail as well by saying that we are slowly working on a system to convert our XML source files to PDF. Right now we're bogged down with trying to 'automate' certain functions that need to be implemented each time a minor change is made to the text, such as making sure the Section number is on the same page as the first line of the text, and other niggling layout issues. Once we have a system whereby we can 'record' such changes for each book, so we can automate output to PDF without needing to hand-edit the intermediate latex file each and every time, the PDFs should become available on our site. Right now, working on this is a low priority, as we're focused on getting the remaining New Order books released, but it is definitely something we would like to do in the future.
For Sommerlund and the Kai!
