I believe you need to uninstall the 2008 versions, reboot to clear up any left behind junk, then try installing the 2005 versions.
if it balks on the uninstall, you can go to the Microsoft download page and find: 
msicuu2.exe
this is a specialized Microsoft uninstaller that yanks a Microsoft product out by its roots like it was a diseased tooth!

Hi.
well, tried to install vwd and vb 2005 express, but it is not letting me
download it.
saying something about the installation failed, and so how do i fix this,
and got also vwd and vb 2008 express.
was able to download c# 2005 express.
so how do i fix this?
in the registry cleaner, and if so, need some guideance on how to remove the 
right compoents.
or do i need to unistall 2008 of vb, and vwd, then try to install vwd and vb 
2005 first, then vb and vwd 2008 later.
please help me out, this is driving me nuts.
