sql server 2005 express backups

I have 2 sql server 2005 express server instances running that has over 4GB
of databases on them combined. I need to know how to set the server up to
make automated backups daily and to also clean out the old backups. Is there
any way to do something like this? I was told that with express, you were
only allowed to make manual backups but not really for sure about this type
of thing. I thought at first that I had lost some mission critical databases
that could have gotten a company in very deep legal trouble, but I was able
to fix it *sweat* and make a backup of the db... Just need to know how to do
this a better way than manually (4GB of databases across 35 Dbs is a little
time consuming)... Any ideas?
