ok, now this is all a surmise, based on VB 6, which is what I am trained in, but I believe if you are in the forms window, and hit control and shift and f2, it will put you in a list of items on the form. if so, you will wish to page up or down in this list to the particular item you wish to write code for, such as "open" or the program "Close" item. after finding the item you want to write code for, tab and you should be in another list of functions that can be associated with that object, such as mouse up, mouse down, key press etc. if all is going well to this point you move up and/or down until you find the event you wish, such as key press, and enter on it you can even add two events, like keypress and left mouse click so you can code for both types of uses.
hit enter on your selected function and this should bring you back to your form, with the new function starting line and "endSub" lines in which you can write the code.
I hope this is close enough to get you there in .net!you can try searching for menu events and see if that gives you better instructions.
