Hi Marvin, Jacob is correct, there are some known problems with JAWS and the installer, related to the way NetBeans 6.9 generates the installers for Sodbeans. We'll be filing bugs with Oracle about it soon. In the interim, the easiest way to get sodbeans going is to download the zip file, unzip it, and go the bin folder to get started. From there, we have a bunch of tutorials on how you get started at the community wiki: https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/sodbeans/wiki The site is a little slow from my hotel connection, but basically you should be able to make a new Hop Project and Sodbeans will let you get started programming. Hope that helps, Stefik On Tue, Jul 13, 2010 at 2:38 AM, Jacob Kruger <jacobk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Well, after installing the correct version of the JDK, I unpacked the zip > file, went to the primary bin subdirectory, and hit enter on sodbeans.exe, > and it starts. > > That's as far as I've gotten/gone so far though. > > Stay well > Jacob Kruger > Blind Biker > Skype: BlindZA > '...fate had broken his body, but not his spirit...' > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Marvin Hunkin > To: programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2010 9:32 AM > Subject: net beans and sodbeans installation nightmares with jaws > hi. > tried to download and install et beans and sod beans. > well not very accessible the installer. > howcan i get jaws 11 to read the java net beans installer and also could not > open the sod beans zip file. > please help me out asap. > once got both installed. > how to use it and how to program. > marvin. > > __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature > database 5273 (20100712) __________ > > The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. > > http://www.eset.com > __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind
