I like classical also, but I'm also a bit of a chameleon in my musical tastes, as I enjoy most genres if it is done well. Thanks for this site. --le ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alex Midence" <alex.midence@xxxxxxxxx> To: <programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, October 18, 2010 11:28 PM Subject: Re: finding free sounds and backgorund music? Hi, Tyler, As it happens, I know of such a deep dark corner. I got a ton of stuff there myself. It's kinda of geeky but ... Here it is: http://www.classiccat.net/ It's a bunch of classical music. Basically, lots of amateur performers post their stuff there as well as schools and universities. Don't worry, there's usually some quality stuff. I found a simply amazing, earth-shattering performance of Bach's Chaconne on a violin by some 19-year-old girl from Switzerland. I would have shelled out money for this and no complaints. The kid was awesome! Classical music is pretty easily available online since it's not in such high demand as non art music. Could do interesting things with some pieces for background music and for effects. Also, you might try the Delian Society's page. They might let you use some of their stuff. It wouldn't surprise me if they did. I mean, it's exposure, for crying out loud! Now, you all know my deep dark secret. My primary choice in music is ... classical. Pretty dorky, huh? Ah, well.
