LOL -- yeah and if you want to really scare them, show them the cryptic self-modifying assembly code that used to be part of programming back in the stone age. When I was a student taking assembly, my prof stuck one of those in a question on an exam without preparing us for it in lectures. I really felt like I had unraveled a mystery when I solved it on the exam, but it was kind of a curve ball to do that to the class without preparation. --le ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ken Perry" <whistler@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, August 11, 2008 8:26 PM Subject: RE: assembly language programming with jaws. You might find it fun though I will tell you it was even entertaining to do the Fruit Basket program after being away from it so long. Not to mention if you go into it in a good mood you could always scare all your students by telling them things like this is my language of choice for coding in windows and there is no language more powerful when coding in windows. The statements don't have to be true but you never know you could maybe make someone believe it and just think what you will do to his or her life. Weeeeeee teaching is fun. Hey Ken, Thanks much. I took classes in it ages ago, but haven't looked at assembly language since the third year of my undergraduate studies. As for your comments regarding the fact that people should know it, I couldn't agree more! I just wish I didn't have to teach it that's all as I've absolutely no interest in the stuff whatsoever! *smile* Cheers, Dónal __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind
