Using Ubuntu on Windows 7

I think I have successfully completed the installation of Ubuntu using
the wubi installer. The website says that Ubuntu can be started as a
Windows application, but the FAQ implies that I have to chose it at boot
time. The boot screen is appearing with the choices of Windows and
Ubuntu. Assuming I chose the latter, how can I make it accessible? I am
using a Pac Mate braille display. Is there a way to run at least a
Ubuntu shell, like Cygwin, which Jaws can access?

Thanks,
John
