Thanks...That is what I have bee doing but, it tells me I have no .php files o my Mac. I know that isn't true as I have the file open in Textedit. However, looking at the file properties doesn't reveal where the file lives so I can't upload it to my server. Can't believe I have forgotten where I put these things. Not sure why the Mac side of things can't see the whole file system so I can get them. I have a feelig the files are somewhere associated with my installation of MAMP but still haven't found the right directory to search.

Thx,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I'm just getting started at this, too, but here's what I think it is.

ls -R file.php

Where file is your file name.

Also, the R is in upper case.

Here's how I found how to do this.

I went to Google and in the search box, I typed

man ls '

Thanks.

Subject: Unix Command Help

Hi all,

In Windows/DOS, I would use a command like:

dir index.php /s

To search my hard drive to find all files named index.php. I am trying to do this on my Mac in terminal as I have misplaced my website files which are in the terminal - not in the Mac file system. Not sure why they don't show up in the Mac side of things but, can anybody provide me a Unix command to perform this type of search?

Thx,
Jeff
