Hello folks, Some of you have been in contact off and on about the ongoing Sodbeans project, which will hopefully expand accessibility in the NetBeans environment. I wanted to let everyone know that I did an interview with Sun Microsystems on the project recently and that it is posted here: http://netbeans.dzone.com/news/central-washington-university This particular article is basically about the challenges of connecting to and working with an environment as tremendously complex as the NetBeans platform and more generally where the project is going. For those still interested, Sodbeans is still under heavy development this summer, as a student and I work on designing a new virtual machine for it. Once this VM is complete, it will give NetBeans a brand new debugger, amongst other things, designed specifically to meet the challenges of the blind community. If any folks are still interested in helping out, there are lots of ways to contribute. Probably the way the community could help us the most is by creating scripts to help fix some of the major (and I mean really, really major), accessibility problems in NetBeans on any and all of the platforms. Any folks that are interested in trying are welcome to get in touch. If no one takes us up on that, we'll probably start working on those pieces in the fall. Hope all is well in the community, Andy
