Hi: I used Microfocus COBOL many, many years ago as something called COBOL and CICS Workbench. Let me know how accessible you find their product with a screen reader. It was a good product back then but I have no clue about now. If it works then I remember developing complete sub systems on a pc and then just uploading them to the Mainframe where about all we did was change the file stuff, select statements if I remember. They also supported IMS fif I remember. This might be a pretty cool setup if it is accessible.

Subject: Need help with Micro Focus Cobol Solutions

Hi listers,

I needed a Cobol compiler that I can use at home to test the code I'm
writing. I downloaded Micro Focus Personal Cobol, but the user manual
seems unnecessarily long and convoluted. Could you recommend a few
quick steps to get me up and running so I can compile the programs I
write?

Eric
