You cannot Install VS 2008 with out SP 2 and SP 2 for Windows XP is the
Latest. I agree that there is SP3 but as per my information its still in beta.
So, you have to install Service Pack 2. I will appreciate if you can share with
us about what you have read in google about SP 2

Hi Guys:
I'm about ready to install IIS from the CD but have seen some nasty
problems related to sp2 on Google.
I have a new core 2 duo, clean with frameworks up to and including 3.5
factory installed.
Has anyone done this and had an easy install or had problems and fixed them?
I will be using it to test StandAlone Asp.net and, perhaps, Visual Studio
2008 projects. The VS 2008 runs an internal host but testing in IIS would be
nice as well before deployment.
Anyway, any comments or suggestions before I push the button?
