In the J2E world there is yet another way around JSP pages with out the use of scripting. Take a look at JSTL.... It's the Java Script Tag Library and affords you a mnor robust approach to scripting. I believe it's an extension of Java Scripting. It's so powerful that it will afford you direct JDBC / ODBC connections. Powerful yet scary at the same time.
