I have 4 new programs coming up (including one right here on Vashon) that I wanted to alert you to:

1.  CHINA PHOTOGRAPHY CULTURAL EXCHANGE, Sept 10-21 - This is not just another photo tour, but a networking and business opportunity at the invitation of the Chinese government.  Ample opportunities to shoot -  from the Shanghai Expo to giant pandas, minority peoples' festivals to scholars' gardens, but focus on meetings with Chinese photography professionals.  These meetings will be customized to match the interests of the final members of the US team.  Per person $4,699 (double occupancy)/$5,099 (single) + roundtrip airfare to China.  Includes all expenses while in China, lodging, meals, air and ground transportation, guides/translators, and entertainment.  For photographers of all levels + family and friends. Visit http://www.wte-usa.com or email me <pfortner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> for a PDF of the itinerary and registration details.  Deposit of $1,000 due this Friday, July 16.

2.  PHOTOGRAPHY PLEIN AIR:  WHIDBEY ISLAND, July 23-25 - Spend an entire weekend photographing Coupeville for a juried show in October.  Learn about showing your work: framing, editioning, pricing, consignment agreements and working with selling partners.  Discuss how to market the images you shoot beyond the show.  $345. 3.  TEEN PHOTO INTENSIVE WORKSHOP, August 16, 18 & 20, with Chris Beck - For teens only, 8-12 grade, shooting Pt Defiance Zoo and Gardens, Pike Place Market and Downtown Seattle, and on Maury Island.  An excellent way to encourage a teen who loves photography to pursue their passion.  $175 + $22 (incl zoo admission & materials).  Contact Vashon Allied Arts for registration - 463-5131.

4,  PHOTOGRAPHY PLEIN AIR:  WALLA WALL WINE COUNTRY, Sept 27-Oct 2 - Photograph the heart of Washington's wine country at harvest time - vineyards, wineries, sweeping landscapes and windmills - for a juried show at the Walla Walla ArtWalk Oct 1.  Discuss how to market the work you shoot beyond the show.  For all levels of digital shooters.  $545 + $65 materials. http://www.pacificnorthwestartschool.com/events/events/index.php?com=detail&eID=141&year=2010&month=07
