You also have to turn it on in System Preferences, I think; in
the shortcuts section of the Keyboard preferences.
That was one of the first places I looked, but not before I
copied the app to the ~/Library/Services directory. I did a
reboot after moving it to the Services directory, and that didn't
work. I then looked in the
System Preferences --> Keyboard --> Shortcuts --> Services
but the word count service doesn't appear there as being
available. I did turn on the Service "Create Service" which
then appears in the Service menu, but all it does is bring up
Automator.
So far -- still no joy.
