1. Call to order
Co president Merrill called meeting to order at 5:15 pm
Attending, Linda Atherton, Deirdre McClure, Fernando Hinojosa, Russell Glidden,
writer Anna Noyes Benoit, Rory Sellers, Margaret Donnis
2. Approval of 4.7.16 minutes
Amended that Rory Sellers attended.
Moved seconded that minutes be accepted. No further discussion.
3. Updates
a. Ads
Have already sold 8-9 ads at this point including back page.
Agreed to use budget for ad for Canco Woods as a thank-you for use of space.
Linda realize she can now trial program
Program status: purchase new Adobe program vs photo shop for creative suite.
Need list if donors
Deirdre doing program order and program notes, will leave spaces for other ads.
Ready by end of the week-end, 4/17.
Russ has given information re printer to Linda. ( Full Court Press)

d. Volunteers –
Matthew Benoit has agreed to be Volunteer Manager for the concert. He will need
a list to work from.
Both Loretta Prescott and Sue Roach from ILAP will be at concert.

No treasurer's report secondary to issues. Will be available next week.
5. Stephanie Hart grant writer,@6:00 Skype
Majority of clients have been in arts and social justice. This is her focus and
area of interest. Does not write competing grants. Distance is not an issue,
can Skye for example. has done grant writing for many organizations. Have
access to good data bases that fund arts.
Funding oriented to projects.
Q:Can we make decision about next years partner based on available funding?
A:Better to do what we do, and do well and then ask for funding. Watch out for
mission creep. Can look for funding for selves can alone look for funding
based on partner. Stay focused on mission
Q: number of grants written?
A :70-100 grants
2 and half million dollars.
Success rate 55-65% (estimated)
Grants most successful when foundations priority fit with granting
organizations.
Best to start small, foundations looking for track record. More evidence of
sponsorship.
List of any and all sponsors helpful.
3 difference level of grant writing.
Letter on Intent. Mission, goals, project.
LoIntent can save lots of time
Q: do we get back the origin grant proposal?
A: yes.
Q define small, amount of money
A. No one answer, grants can be 500 to millions. No granting org want to be the
sole source of income.
Q: how available are you?
A. Need a couple of months lead time. Best not to have to rush a grant.
Discussion. PCP needs budget, grant needs own budget.
6. Business cards with message on back – invitation to join
Russ offered to do this. Agree it was a good idea.
