I just emailed Fernando about this a few minutes ago. Here’s what I told him:
For the sake of expediency, I will drag out and set up my old computer. I can
use the ancient Adobe CS on it to do the programs. I’ll just have to jump
through some extra hoops to do so, since that computer can’t be hooked up to
email or the internet.
NOTE: We cannot rely on this ongoing for two reasons. 1. My old computer is on
its last legs. The hard drive could die at any moment; it’s been groaning for
months. 2. I’m getting rid of that computer within the next couple of months,
just as soon as I can recover some files from it.

Deirdre,
I agree. Ultimately, for this and other software needs, TechSoup is probably
one of the best options. It grants us subsidized access to Adobe InDesign and
a slew of other products. However, it will take some time (within a week) for
the site to grant us access to their pricing. I.e., it is our best option
moving forward, but it is not one right now.
I'm experimenting with obtaining another copy of InDesign, and I'll be
intouch with Linda about this.

So we need to talk about this. We do need, from time to time, access to
software that enables us to make high-quality output, or we need to find to
someone else who will do this, or we need to purchase/borrow some software.
Are there other options?
I suggest we make this decision as soon as possible!
Linda, can you, in the mean time, filed these questions, as you are the most
experienced member of the team?
Thanks!!

Sorry, my bad. I got this on Saturday, but I haven’t responded yet because I
don’t know what to tell him. I don’t know who is doing the programs, and I
don’t know what software will be used, so I can’t give him any specs.
Fernando’s software connection didn’t pan out. I checked on TechSoup, as
Fernando suggested. The Adobe suite costs $20/month, and you are locked in
for 1 year. Thus, it would cost us $240.00 just to use it. Then we’ll have
printing costs on top of that.
I meant to email him this AM just to let him know the back cover is theirs.
I’ll send an email confirming their slot right away. But we need to decide
ASAP who/how the programs are getting done, so we can write up the specs.
Other advertisers will be wanting the info, too.

Hi Anna,
I emailed Linda last week to see if the back cover was still available and
if so what the specs are for the ad.
I have not heard back yet, but it will be our pleasure to support the
Phoenix Choral Spring Concert.
Thank you,
Nate
