Hello All,
The latest product from the
PHOENIX<http://www.iuac.res.in/%7Eelab/phoenix/>project,
expEYES <http://expeyes.in/>, was released in March-11. Considerable
interest was shown by the academic community. One major area of importance
is making the software and documentation available in different languages.
Georges Khasnadar has done considerable work in this direction by. The
software and documentation is currently available in French with proper
Debian packaging. He is establishing a
mediawiki<http://georges.khaznadar.fr/uicilibris/index.php/ExpEYES>that
supports converting documentation developed on the web to printable
books using LaTeX. Similar efforts are required for other languages
including many Indian languages.
Another requirement is making videos for training. Thanks to the interest
and support from Shaju K Y and Revathy Parameswaran we made a start by
making this <http://expeyes.in/sites/default/files/expeyes-1.ogv>, using
recordMyDesktop. More are needed.
I request the users who has expertise in this area to take up such projects.
Two training programs on expEYES are scheduled. 26,27-Aug-11 at Carmel
College Goa & 29,30-Aug-11 at WRIC, Mumbai.
