The vulnerability is caused due to the Secure Channel (SChannel) security package failing to check a logical condition when parsing client certificates. This can be exploited to cause the LSASS service to stop responding and restart the system via a specially crafted client certificate request to an affected IIS server hosting a SSL-enabled web site.
