A colleague far in northern Ontario phoned me the other day asking if it
was possible to run the xp repair on a licensed xp pro equipped laptop
with a copied xp pro disc. He doesn't have his disc at the hunting lodge
but someone had the copy and if he waits the flight out of there is in 3
weeks, when he needs it fixed yesterday :(. They have only satellite
phone there and no internet so he is in a bind.

So is there any unforeseen problems with this working properly?

I know there is no difference between retail, OEM and corporate volume
discs save for the activation software missing on the latter but he
doesn't want to trash everything either.
