You may have to get someone to look at it for you Tom; under 
"View" then "Options" it has LOTS of areas that can be changed, 
and format options, etc.

Post a link to one of these audio files and see what it does 
for me.

I considered VLC but Media Player Classic sounded like a
better choice. It seems to be connecting almost every time I
try an audio stream. It seems to get a little flaky if I
close it without first closing the stream. Fortunately it has
a lot of keyboard commands, control-c to close the stream,
alt-x to close the program. Alt-F4 is the standard Windows
keyboard command to close a program however closing Media
Player Classic again seems a bit flaky when using it, so
alt-x works just fine.
