Naaa, I guess I should but I *personally* have never had that
happen before. At least not to my knowledge that I noticed
just after defrag'ing. I don't use the Native XP utility, I
use Diskeeper which is a bit "safer". The incidence of that
has gone down since Win98, but still possible.

I *NEVER* advise anyone to do a "G search" (long story ;-), but
I have advised doing "a search", but I don't recall that
specific incident. I think it may have been about Norton and
KAV? If so, the explanation is here, 3rd paragraph:

Clint, if Defrag can cause a file to corrupt, do you do a
restore point before you Defrag?

Also, on a previous post, you advised the poster to do a Google
search to find a utility to remove a program from their hard
drive. What's wrong with the Add/Remove program that comes with
Windows?

Thanks

And the upgrade isn't a true upgrade either, as it wipes your
drive and
starts fresh anyways, it supposedly just requires your xp key
only.
