Naaa, I guess I should but I *personally* have never had that happen before. At least not to my knowledge that I noticed just after defrag'ing. I don't use the Native XP utility, I use Diskeeper which is a bit "safer". The incidence of that has gone down since Win98, but still possible. I *NEVER* advise anyone to do a "G search" (long story ;-), but I have advised doing "a search", but I don't recall that specific incident. I think it may have been about Norton and KAV? If so, the explanation is here, 3rd paragraph: //www.freelists.org/post/pcworks/PCWorks-cannot-connect-to-internet -Clint God Bless, Clint Hamilton, Owner http://www.OrpheusComputing.com/Halloween-sales-specials.html http://www.OrpheusComputing.com/computers/specials.html ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Powell" Clint, if Defrag can cause a file to corrupt, do you do a restore point before you Defrag? Also, on a previous post, you advised the poster to do a Google search to find a utility to remove a program from their hard drive. What's wrong with the Add/Remove program that comes with Windows?
